J' Adore: Suzy Perette

One can never have too many LBDs - Rather like shoes (but I digress).

I'd like to share my favorite with you.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time looking at vintage clothing online, both here and overseas and every so often you discover a name that you realise is synonymous with quality and style.

One of these is Suzy Perette. Here's a little bit from the Vintage Fashion Guild about this particular brand.

Imagine how excited I was to find one of my own.

I love this dress for so many reasons:

It's more Joan Holloway than Peggy Olson
It's in my favorite "Festive Melbourne Black"

It hugs my curves in all the right places

It has a deep V back
It has pockets, Kittens - POCKETS!!
Here is a slightly over exposed shot to show the bow detail at the front.

What's not to love?
The LBD can be dressed up or down. Killer heels for the inner vamp, diamonds or pearls for the sophisticate. Puurfect for cocktails, dinner or swanning around the office with a cute cardi and vixen eyes...
Be truthful - how many little black dresses are in your wardrobe, Kitten? What do you like to wear them with?

A very lovely find indeed! The deep V at the back is so sexy, it really suits you.

And to answer your comment, I have zero little black dresses in my wardrobe, but I do have a charcoal suit which I love. I think it is my equivalent of the LBD, and I love to wear the Jacket with Jeans, or the Slack with Sloppy Joes, or the Suit as a Suit with a T-shirt or a Dress Shirt.

I just love it.

Sadly, only one. But I think I get extra credit for the fact that I made it myself, and have worn it every where from a math competition, to a graduation dance, and to several evening events.

What a beautiful dress. And it looks like it was made for you, you wear it so well.
I have Two. One is in my drawer as it is a jersey dress by Kookai with a lovely long tie thing at the front that you can knot loose and slutty or bandage your self up tightly like a nun. Perfect length and with 3/4 leggings, perfect conference to dinner wear.
I also have a wool armani number that I got in Oxfam Notting hill. Absolutely Audrey/Tiffanesque. I love it. The lining was ripped when I bought it so I cut it out and wear it with a silk slip.

What a stunning dress. I love the deep v at the back.

I only have one LBD but I love it as it can be worn over a crisp white shirt to job interviews, dressed up for evening with a sparkly cropped jacket and heels, or worn to work with a cardi and ballet flats.
